Several Fires Started By Vehicle Being Dragged On Highway

 

According to Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly, Barry County 911 received multiple phone calls on 8/29/12 of a pickup dragging another vehicle.  Sparks from the vehicle that was being dragged caused several fires along Farm Road 2040 west of MO 37 Hwy and on BB Hwy east of MO 37 Hwy.  The fires burnt an estimated 250 acres of grass, fence posts and railroad tracks.  The suspect 24 year old James Wogoman was allegedly dragging a stolen vehicle out ofPierceCityto a recycling center where he was trying to sell the vehicle as scrap.  Wogoman has been arrested for Knowingly Burning and for Receiving Stolen Property more than $500.00.  He is in the Barry County Jail pending charges being filed.
