BARRY COUNTY JAIL STARTS WEEK OFF WITH 74 IN CUSTODY
According to Sheriff Mick Epperly, the Sheriff’s Office has had a busy weekend, several arrests over the weekend has increased the inmate total to 74 as of Monday morning. Five people were arrested in Shell Knob over the weekend. On Sunday, July 10th at approximately 2:43 am the Subway located on the Bridgeway Plaza in Shell Knob was burglarized. Subjects broke the front door to gain entry into the building, they proceeded to carry out the safe into the parking lot, after attempting to open the safe, they left before Officer Jim Stepp arrived on scene. Detective Brian Landreth was called to process the scene. On 7/15 after follow-up investigations, Detective Brian Landreth arrested 3 male subjects who were all living in the Viola Trailer Park for the burglary of Subway. 18 year old Sean-Michael Anthony Hand, 18 year old Tyler Bennington, and 18 year old Cody Michael Townsend, they have been charged with Burglary and each have a 15,000 bond set. Additional charges are pending against these 3 for the break-in at the Viola Marina.
Also on July 15th, Sheriff Mick Epperly, Officer Danny Crabb and a member of the Drug Task Force responded to a residence off YY Hwy in Shell Knob owned by Shawn D. Nicholls. Upon arrival officers arrested the owner of the residence 47 year old Shaun D. Nicholls, and 55 year old Elwyn Brown for an active meth lab. Both men have been charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamines and bond has been set at $50,000.00 each.
