A Polk County man, Jerry E. Troupe, 51, of Humansville was charged on 04-14-2010 with Promoting Child Pornography in the 1s/t Degree in Barry County, MO. Charges of possession of Child Pornography were also filed against the subject in Polk County, MO on 04-14-2010. Mr. Troupe is currently being held in the Polk County Jail in lieu of bond.

The case was initiated and investigated through the Cassville Police Department and the Barry County Sheriff’s Department, by Detectives, James Smith and Brian Martin, members of the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force hosted by the Joplin Missouri Police Department. Assisting the Task Force with the case were members of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

A state search warrant was obtained and executed by the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force and federal agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on April 13, 2010, at the Troupe residence during which a collection of child pornography was located on the suspect’s computer.
