Homeowners wake to an intruder in their home
On 9/18/14 at approximately 11:58 pm Cpl Kerry Headrick with the Barry County Sheriff's Office responded to St. Johns Wood Lane in Shell Knob, MO. Upon arrival he met with the female complainant who stated that they were asleep and had heard a noise in the kitchen. She stated that her husband had went down the hallway to investigate and found an intruder in their kitchen. He proceeded to chase the intruder who got his leg caught in the door while he was fleeing the residence. The husband then jumped in his truck to see if he could chase down the subject. Upon arrival back at the residence the husband told Cpl Headrick that he believed the intruder was a male subject approximately sixteen to seventeen years of age wearing shorts and a white hooded sweatshirt. The intruder had tried to take a bottle of rum which was located on the kitchen counter and had entered the owners 2013 Ford F150 Pickup and had taken a flashlight. The next day Detective Terry Meek and Deputy Chris Hutson received information that the intruder was possibly a teenage neighbor. Detective Meek and Deputy Hutson interviewed 18 year old Randon James Hillhouse who happens to live close to the incident location. Hillhouse denied any involvement in the burglary and agreed to take a Polygraph. On 9/25/14 Detective Meek met with Hillhouse again to administer the Polygraph. Hillhouse stated that he was not being honest and that he was the one who had entered the home. Randon James Hillhouse was arrested and is currently being held in the Barry County Jail. He has been charged with 1st Degree Burglary and bond has been set at 10,000 cash only.
